Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills, staining) in one session without having to swap out devices. They can also save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot should have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads with a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer for its modest price and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at fast speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

You could, for instance request the robot cleaner with mop to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only issue is that it is known to smash into walls and objects at a high speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning in the app will reveal precisely what the robot hoover has done, where it is traveling, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

The docking station comes with an LCD display that shows when maintenance is needed, such as emptying debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the water tank by itself, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time, with the mop capable of operating for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you look at all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's flagship robot vacuum and mop. The model this year has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pull up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could be unable to pick up.

As with the other two Roborock models I've tested, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating dual cameras that can detect objects, and determine if they are walls or other surfaces. It can then change its direction automatically and clean around the objects, without missing a step.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons which include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml of water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin fills up automatically.

The only negative I discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if necessary) but it's a challenge to take off the mount itself to wash manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of intelligent features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these via the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the battery life and maintain your components. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuums with mop vacuum and mop is a market leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power and advanced mowing capabilities. Its innovative design allows for customized and efficient cleaning while also saving time.

The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the most effective alternatives available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry mess. It comes with a mop that is top quality that cleans hard floors without using a pad. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is user-friendly and user-friendly and the X40's clever features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, see floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's done.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive on the market however, it comes with many additional features that distinguish it from. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can vacuum up pet hair and smaller dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

The mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is a fantastic feature because it prevents the growth of odours and mould in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.

There are a lot of options, including the option to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or you can utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers a variety of options for customising your cleaning routine. It also has several functions that are not available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white colors that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list - at 4kg however it's not overly heavy, and is sturdy and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice feature.
