Greenpower Mobility - All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles

Greenpower creates and manufactures, as well as distributes an entire range of medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicles. This includes school buses, transit buses, cargo buses, buses for cargo and shuttles.

We had the opportunity to test the EV9 for a few hours on a local freeway, and found it easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The EV9 is able to suppress the sound of traffic and wind driving along the highway. It glides effortlessly over ruts and humps. The acceleration is extremely fast and the car has adjustable regenerative braking that allows "one pedal driving" by simply lifting the accelerator.

The EV9 provides a large range and can be charged in three hours or less at home, or using any commercial charger. Drivers have the option of choosing between two operating modes including eco mode and sports mode. Eco mode focuses on the green power electric scooter, cruise control and handling while sport mode focuses on speed. Both modes are enjoyable to drive and offer an unforgettable experience for those who've never been in a vehicle with an electrical system before.

GreenPower offers several other eVehicles, including a multipurpose all-electric minibus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used for executive shuttles, transit or microtransit buses, vanpools, or paratransit vehicles.

GreenPower is already producing about 10 EV Star buses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is attempting to replace their fleet of older diesel vehicles with 100 electric vehicles. With the Biden Administration planning to electrify schools across the nation, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA compliant.
