WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item, but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Upgrades are useful items that are used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be bought by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade items is purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor using an button, which displays an item's preview at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Crests

Players have several choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

The first thing to remember is that Crests are only available to equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complicated requires as many as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons with all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons to obtain endgame gear. The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it does bring some changes to the process of upgrading. When a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests have one use therefore it's essential to use them properly.
