Requirements to Buy Category C Driving License

A class C CDL allows you to drive vehicles that can hold 16 passengers or more, or hazardous materials. The process to obtain an class C CDL requires you to meet physical, residency, age and vision requirements.

This category includes trucks, RVs with trailers and other large vehicles. It also includes specialized trucks, such as moving trucks for rent. You can also get the class C CDL with different endorsements, such as Passenger (P), Tank (T) and Hazardous Materials (H).

Requirements to obtain the Class C license

To obtain a Class C license, there are several requirements. In the majority of cases, the applicant must pass an exam for writing and a driving test before being granted a license. In certain instances, a training course may be required. These courses are designed to instruct drivers how to operate a commercial vehicle safely and efficiently. During the course, applicants will be required to test their skills on local highways and roads to enhance their skills.
