1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a great alternative for those who want a a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience but are willing to manually empty the dustbin of the robot when it is full.

Both robots are good at removing surface dirt on carpets and hard floors, and they can easily maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ doesn't feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots that we test. It can be stuck on power cords or socks, and may have trouble navigating between surfaces, such as carpet and hardwood.

iRobot recommends clearing areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes getting rid of any clutter or toys it may encounter. You should also keep the dustbin and filters clear to avoid becoming clogged. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station, and it automatically empties the dirt into the station's dust bin. Then it continues cleaning from where it started. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for approximately an hour and a half continuous use. It takes about three hours to fully recharge.

2. Roomba by iRobot

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in the iRobot flagship line, and it has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and the most crucial feature of all -- it has a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba I7+ can map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can direct your robot using the app or via voice.

In our tests the i7+ performed faster and more maneuverable than our runner-up and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces kinds, including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin that removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on recurring costs.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines and top rated robot Vacuum to move around the room and vacuum a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. We were able, once connected, to voice commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, top rated robot vacuum energy-dense lithium-ion battery that produces continuous, non-fading power for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system traps allergens, then lets cleaner air into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to collect large particles and fine dust. It has three different suction modes that can be adapted to the task. It is able to quickly switch from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.

This model has a dock that can charge the Dyson to 100% in 3.5 hours. It also offers easy access to 2 attachments and an Wand. This is a significant improvement over earlier Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The main drawback of the V10 is its limited run time. As CR's tests have shown, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are not true. This is an average, not an exceptional, run time for a battery-powered cordless vac. This is enough time to vacuum a typical-sized home however, it's not enough time to reach every spot. (A second time is usually sufficient). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is significantly better on low-pile floor carpet.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums the 694 is an entry-level model that's a great option for those who don't want to invest too much money on a robot. It could pick up all kinds of debris and sizes during our tests and would often go over the same area several times for an extensive clean. Its flat front end helps to get into corners and along the best robot vacuum cleaner walls' edges, which is a nice addition.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the ability to map that comes with more advanced models like our top selections and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It may get stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and is often unable to supply power before returning to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways because it has fewer components that need regular cleaning It also comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and is better at moving itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of reasons, since it has a longer battery life, the ability to change the suction power mode by hand, comes with physical boundary strips, and is operated by your phone's voice assistant. It is also more robust, has a larger motor, and performs better on floors with low pile and bare.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's no surprise that they are one of the top makers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has an advanced onboard technology that allows to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app offers a variety of options to customize your robotic vacuum cleaner commercial cleaner, including virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings and more. It's easy to understand and is user-friendly, which is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our testing, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86% of it. It was not as successful in avoiding taller objects like cords or socks. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models we've tested and this could be a problem for some shoppers.

The app allows you to access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also set up live streaming from the robot's cleaning zone. This feature lets you check in on your children or pets while you are away. The filter and the dustbin can be cleaned to ensure a quick, painless clean-up. Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for flooring made of hard wood. They have a wider cleaning path and an extra-large dustbin that holds 2X more debris than other models to keep the area clear for maximum runtime. They also include two side sweepers that can be used to clean around corners and edges. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also includes AutoSense technology, which can tell if it's picking up surface litter or embedded dirt and then automatically adjusts the power level. It also comes with a smart app that lets you see the virtual map and manage the functions and schedules. You can also track the vacuum's status and send it to the dock for charging at the click of a button. The app allows you to customize the LED lights on the top of the vacuum so that you can discern where it is focusing or if it's stuck.

The app makes it possible to steer the robot manually in the event of need. For example my living room rug has a darkly colored border that can cause confusion for other robots I've tested. The HRV 425BL, however continued to travel across the border, without notifying the high point. The ability to program a daily cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving benefit.
