Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum is able to keep floors clean enough to decrease the frequency at which you need to manually vacuum. Choose one that has excellent navigation, is able to clean stairs and corners, and has a large dust bin that has to be emptied only every few times.

1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling, the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying features. Both robots do well cleaning up surface debris from hard floors and carpets, and they're very adept in getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home to help the i3+ navigate and clean up efficiently. The i3+ isn't able to have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or other top-rated robots we have test. It can get stuck on power cords and socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces like hardwood and rug.

iRobot recommends that you tidy the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or other clutter it might encounter. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter free of dirt to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and automatically empties the dirt into the station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning where it left off. Battery life is about an hour-and-a-half of continuous usage. It takes about three hours to charge.

2. Roomba by iRobot

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in the iRobot flagship line, and it is equipped with the most recent features. It has self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is its self-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that allows it to map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can direct your Robot Vacuum Cleaner Quiet using the app or voice.

The i7+ is more efficient and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from all surfaces, including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin, which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and lowers recurring costs.

We were also amazed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning session and move around the room and vacuum the area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. After being connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world full of cordless vacs that look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model feels like an old-fashioned sports car. It's powerful and has features to replace a stand-up vacuum in most households, but it also fits perfectly next to the coffee table or the bookshelf, where you can move it around like an enchanted wand.

The V10 is powered with a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery that can provide power that is not fading for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system traps allergens, then lets cleaner air into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpet to suck up large particles and fine dust. It comes with three suction modes to match the task that is being completed. It is able to quickly switch from handheld to floor vacuum, and vice versa.

The model also comes with docks that charge to 100% in 3.5 hours and offers easy access to two attachments and a clip for a wand. This is a huge improvement over the older Dysons, which take a long time to charge and are a pain to store.

The main drawback of the V10 is its limited run time. As CR's tests show, its advertising claims of up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a typical, not an exceptional, time for the battery-powered cordless vacuum. This is still enough to vacuum the majority of an average-sized house, but not quite long enough to clean every spot (though an additional run-through often can be effective). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeable superior on low-pile floor carpet.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

One of the most well-known self-cleaning robot vacuums vacuums The 694 is an entry-level model that's an excellent option for those who don't wish to spend too much on a robotic. It's capable of sucking up all kinds of debris in our tests, and often passes over the same areas several times to get a really thorough clean. The flat front of the unit allows it to reach into corners and along the edges of walls, which is a nice feature.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it lacks the ability to map that comes with more advanced models like our top choices and the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It can get stuck on phone cords or furniture and will often run out of power before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways, as it has fewer components that require regular maintenance and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges faster.

The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also has physical boundaries strips and can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistant. It's also more robust, has a more powerful motor, and robot vacuum cleaner quiet can perform better on floors with bare or low-pile.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's not surprising that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has an advanced onboard technology that allows to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app provides a range of customization options for your robotic cleaner. This includes virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior modifications docking frequency settings, and much more. It's easy to understand robot vacuum cleaner quiet and easy to use, just as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and cleaned up 86% of dog hair (on carpet). It was not as successful in avoiding taller items like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also a little more expensive than the other models we tried and could be a problem for some buyers.

The app also makes it easy to steer the robot cleaning machine manually should you need to. My living room rug, for instance is darkly colored that can trip up some other robots.
