Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust, dirt) and robots that vacuum and mop wet messes (spills, staining) in one time without the need to switch out devices. They also can save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide gets you up and running in no time with an entire dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at fast speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

You can, for example ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only problem is that the robot vacuum cleaners best tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning in the app will show you exactly what the robot has done, where it is traveling, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.

A large LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks must be completed like emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It also mixes detergent into the water tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you look at every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop is the newest version. Unlike last year's model it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to remove fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may miss.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates a dual-camera that can identify objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It will then automatically alter its path and clean the objects without a pause.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek and angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to return the robot vacuum reviews to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin auto-refills.

The only downside I've discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if needed) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these advanced features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track battery life. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering how well it performs otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with innovative features, superior suction power and cutting-edge mopping capabilities. Its clever design permits customized and efficient cleaning while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry messes. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet when in operation, with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 also has a side brush that can be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture that is curved like chairs and table legs. It can also get under furniture with low profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a great feature that helps the X40 to avoid damaging floors by repeated back-and-forth movements.

Contrary to other robots, which are restricted to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, and reverse the process. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple and easy to use and the X40's clever features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, switch modes, look at maps and floor plans, and manage mopping setting. The X40 can also monitor its progress and inform you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to keep clean and has numerous features which make it a good choice for busy families. The docking station can automatically cleans the dustbin and the mop pads, then refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It also can detect if the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. However, it has many features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature in its mop, utilizes two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, small dirt particles and pick up spills and dirty spots.

The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen in other robot mop and autonomous vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.

There are a lot of options, including the option to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options for customizing the cleaning process, and there are many functions that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles rather than using an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's heavier than the other two-in-one robots in this list, at 4kg but it's not too heavy either, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping system is also well designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
