Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stats linearly.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to boost the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be done through many different methods such as the use of upgrade components and also increasing an item's mark level or rarity. A lot of items can be reforged to boost their stats.

Upgradeable items are available all over the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. Upgrade components are the most common way to upgrade equipment. These are items that can be inserted into equipment. Glyphs

Glyphs also improve the retention of a message by evoking an experience of familiarity in the brain.

Each glyph comes with a range of values it can enhance a stat in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This range is not the actual amount at the glyph can increase the stat, but rather the maximum value by which it can do so. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the quality and tier of the item you're creating it for.

The majority of upgrade components that are inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without dismantling them except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If you do have an unusable rune or glyph that hasn't yet been incorporated into your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece gear by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can remove the glyph using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will destroy the item that it was installed in but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item with the glyph and its shards, therefore, it shouldn't be considered as a loss.

The addition of a glyph to an item can cause it to be unstable, and the shards that are left of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you dismantle the item. You can also add the glyph on your equipment to provide a bonus. For example, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly instead of all at one time. This is beneficial for those who take many hits from their enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens are used to change the affixes of weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from many sources, including mysterious boxes, rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token gives the player a brand new random affix that is usually better than the original one. Reroll tokens can be used to boost weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.

Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the item upgrade menu, however, they are still eligible to receive upgrades. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to recycle. Recycling an item adds a small amount of points to its level gauge.
