Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The statistics of an item are improved by upgrading it, also referred to as "upping". Each upgrade increment boosts the stat linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain a level gauge for each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item varies according to its rarity and.

Upgrade components

A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the effectiveness of your weapons and Item upgrades armor. This can be achieved through a variety of methods, including by using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity or mark level. Many items can also be reforged to boost their stats.

Upgradeable items are available throughout the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. Upgrade components are the main method to upgrade equipment. The number of upgrade item components required for a particular item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. Almost all weapons can be upgraded with the use of a prefix upgrade like an insignia or a rune. Many can be upgraded using a suffix upgrade. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use, but it hasn't been incorporated to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. You can remove the glyph using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item will be destroyed within which it is placed but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item with the glyph and its fragments, so this should not be considered a loss.

Adding a glyph to an item upgrading may cause it to become unstable and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory when you take it down. You can also add an inscription to your equipment to make it more valuable. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and then be dealt slowly to the wearer rather than all at one time. This is helpful for those who take lots of damage from enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to alter the affixes of equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, such as mysterious boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with a random affix that is typically better than what they had before. Reroll tokens can be used to boost weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.
