Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components

A specific item can be used to evolve certain Pokemon. The Upgrade can be obtained by spinning a photo disc and is sometimes offered as a reward during Pokemon GO events.

The Upgrade can also be placed in armor, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools to increase their item upgrades level. The upgrade costs Flightstones and crests, based on the type of item.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be slotted into weapons, armor trinkets and gathering tools to offer bonus effects or attributes while the equipment is being used. Upgrade components are only available on equipment that has an upgrade slot available. Most upgrade components also require that the Item Upgrader Kit to be upgraded is at a certain level. Some upgrade components have special visual effects that are visible when they are applied. Upgrade components can be obtained by crafting, purchased from karma sellers or exchanged with other players on the Trading Post or used to repair equipment, or as rewards during games.

A variety of upgrade components are available, each providing an individual bonus. Universal upgrades such as gems and inscriptions can be used on any kind of equipment. They provide smaller bonuses than other kinds of upgrade components. Infusions are used in non-amulet ascended equipment and legendary equipment, while enhancements are used to upgrade certain items that are ascended back. Injecting an upgrade component will destroy the previous upgrade item. The only exceptions are glyphs, which can only be used in gathering tools, and enchantments. Both can be removed and replaced.

Insignias and enchantments will be displayed their names on the hover display of the item while upgrades with suffix and prefix will add their names to the end of the name of the equipment (e.g. for example, a Radiant Insignia on Tyrian Armor would change the name to Radiant Tyrian Armor). The number of upgrade components added to an item will be displayed in the item's tooltip.

Glyphs

Glyphs are special characters that can be added into an OpenType font to add functional or decorative elements, such as ligatures, ornaments, fractions, swashes registered trademark symbols and ellipses. The Glyphs Panel lets you add and view these unique characters as well as regular symbols like em and en dashes, as well as trademark symbols that are registered.

Each Glyph gives a character a boost in their primary stats. The glyph can also have up to four secondary stats that will affect its radius on your Paragon Board. Secondary Stats are a percentage increase that is multiplied when other bonuses have been applied in addition to Speed Glyphs which directly increase the hero's speed.

Selecting the Glyphs and then clicking "enchant" will activate them. This will bring up a new window that displays the Glyphs you have that can be applied to the item upgrades you have selected. You are only able to apply the correct Glyph to the selected item. Every weapon, jewelry, or armor piece has a different collection of Glyphs.

Glyphs can be leveled up through the use of Nightmare Dungeons or completing Tree of Whisper quests. The more difficult the dungeon is, the greater the amount of Glyph experience that you will get. Once a Glyph reaches level 15, it can be upgraded by the Glyph Upgrade Altar. The radius of the Paragon Board increases by one node for every 15 levels that a Glyph is upgraded.

Once a Glyph has reached the desired level, you can activate it. Select it and click the "enchant button". The resulting glyph will provide the stated bonus and also boost all the other nodes within its range on the Paragon Board. It is important to place glyphs where they will be most beneficial to your build, and this is why it's recommended to prioritize Magic Glyphs early on. Rare glyphs could also provide double bonus in the event that certain conditions are fulfilled.

Click the cycle widget to alter the view of the Glyphs Panel. Each of these views shows the Glyphs using a different font. You can narrow down the selection of glyphs by choosing an option beneath "Entire Font". For example, punctuation is only displayed in punctuation glyphs. Math Symbols limits the choices to mathematical symbols.

Rerolling

Rerolling involves creating an account on a different account to increase your chances of obtaining the weapon or character you'd like. However it's important to remember that not all set items are candidates for upgradation. Certain sets, like the FB Sorc Whistan's Shield spec or Naj's Puzzler staff are already exceptional and elite in their own right and do not require any upgrades. On the other hand, some items that are BiS and see frequent use (like Goldwrap) may benefit from being upgraded to increase their performance. For these types of items, it could be worth the extra cost to upp them.
