Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one time without the need to switch between devices. They can also help save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer at a low cost, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum mop cleaner robot cleaner has four power settings, a variety of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

You could, for instance ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only drawback is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what the robot has completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station informs the maintenance tasks that must be completed including emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can operate for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive that lets you view every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop, is the newest version. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that allows it to pick up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.

This Roborock model, Robots that vacuum and mop like the other two I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by having a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they are a wall or another surface. It is able to change its path in a way that is automatic vacuum cleaner and mop and clean around the objects without stumbling.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-filling.

The only issue I encountered in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot vacuums best passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of clever features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track the battery's life. You'll need to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair, crumbs and other dry mess. It comes with a mop that is excellent quality that can clean hard floors without using pads. Additionally, the X40 is quiet in its operation, with only occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 has an additional side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean curved furniture such as table and chair legs. The robot can also reach under furniture with low profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 to prevent damage to floors from excessive back-and forth movements.

Unlike other robots, which are restricted to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, and vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and understand, and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, alter modes, look at maps and floor plans, and control mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers many convenient features, making it a great choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, washes mop pads and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It also can detect if the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation before it spills.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive models available and comes with many additional features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles and pick up spills and dirty spots.

The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is an excellent feature because it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.

There are many choices, including the possibility to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The mopping design is also excellent and the double-rotating mops work well on hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
