Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our tests on floors that are bare, and they're particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws however, which hinder them from being our top option. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to get stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. Also, it doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of a room.

It's still a great deal for those whose office or home has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. 2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as quick navigation make it easy to clean and effective in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also has an impressive suction system and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically fills up its base, and supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba rather than the compact models this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most appealing looking in our reviews. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 in our tests thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device which could be problematic if you run it in the morning prior to work or at night as you attempt to sleep.

It's also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing to live some more volume and a little more cost this is a capable two-in-one that should delight most.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot employs a combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than its more expensive rivals. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused with power cords or obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner comes with the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to complete the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and also adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to the degree of dirt they are.

For bigger homes it's worth looking for models that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a particular area of your house via the app or voice commands. A stairway mode is beneficial if you have number of furniture. For busy families, a recharge feature and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to resume where it left off can be extremely useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd think from its price. It is a good robot vacuum vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using a single pad and a reciprocating movement which is cleaner than the majority mop cleaners for robots that we've examined. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping that collects data on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to create a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas for greater efficiency. The app has a range of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it can reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It features a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. It also has the ability to create a spot-clean that intensely cleans a localized area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, Best Robot Hoover but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is a bit noisier than the other top robot vacuum cleaner reviews vacuums we've tried. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
