1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a great alternative for those who want a an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience but are willing to manually empty the dust bin when it is full.

Both robots are adept at removing surface dirt on floors and carpets and can move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home that help the i3+ navigate and clean up efficiently. The i3+ doesn't feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we have tested. It can be stuck on power cords and socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces like hardwood and Top Rated Robot Vacuum rug.

iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or other clutter it might come across. You should also keep the dustbin and filter clean to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is empty it goes back to its docking station and automatically emptying its trash into the station's dust bin, and then continues cleaning the area where it left off. Battery life is about an hour and a half of constant use. It takes three hours to fully charge.

2. Roomba from iRobot

The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line and comes with the latest features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and the most important feature of all -- it has an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba I7+ can make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can direct your robot vacuum cleaners using the app or by voice.

The i7+ is more efficient and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin that removes major maintenance sources and reduces recurring cost.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the good robot vacuum to begin, stop or pause its cleaning session and move around the room and sweep an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. Once connected, to voice commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces fade-free power for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system traps allergens and releases clean air back into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to collect large crumbs and fine dust. It has three suction modes to match the task that is being completed. It is able to quickly switch from handheld to floor vacuum, and vice versa.

This model has a dock which charges the Dyson to 100% within 3.5 hours. It also offers easy access to 2 attachments as well as a wand. This is a huge improvement over older Dysons models, which require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.

The main drawback of the V10 is its sluggish run time. The tests conducted by CR show that its claims to run up to 60 minutes are not true. This is a common, not exceptional, battery-powered vacuum's run time. This is enough time to clean a typical-sized home, but not enough to get into every corner. (A second pass generally works). It was able to pick up most types of debris in our tests and would often go over the same area several times to ensure an extensive clean. The flat front of the unit allows it to reach into corners and along the walls' edges, which is a nice addition.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the mapping capabilities of more sophisticated models like our top choices such as the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It can get stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and often runs out of power before returning to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects, as it has fewer components that need regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job maneuvering itself. It also has a larger dustbin, and charges more quickly.

The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for most purposes, as it has a longer battery life, the ability to change its suction power mode manually and comes with physical boundary strips, and can be operated by your phone's voice assistant. It is also more durable, has a more powerful motor, and works better on bare floors and low-pile carpet, while providing a wider array of automation options.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a well-known brand in the field of home electronics. It's not a surprise that they are one of the top makers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is packed with cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacles avoidance.

The app gives you plenty of options to personalize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior adjustments, docking frequency settings, and much more. The app is simple to learn and use as are other Samsung devices.

In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86 percent of it. It didn't do very well in avoiding taller items like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than the other models we tested which could be a problem for top Rated robot vacuum certain shoppers.

The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that is accessible via the app. You can also create a live stream from the robot's cleaning station.
