WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for the latter due to the need to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item level upgrade upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item level upgrade however, they are always cheaper than buying new gear. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that are used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will show an image of the item level upgrade at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item upgrades and the current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

Another notable modification is that crests have one purpose and it's crucial to use them wisely. For instance, it's a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the best gear you have available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
