WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with each upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for the latter due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of armor or weapons. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will costs 105.

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using a button, which will show an item upgrade's preview at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for example.
