The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO are the same robots that differ only in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying features. This makes the i3+ a good choice for people who want a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of having to empty their dust bin manually when it is full.

Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors, and they're excellent in maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that aid the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we evaluated the i3+ does not have any obstacle-avoidance features which means it can get stuck on things like power cords or socks, and it may have trouble traversing transitions across surfaces like hardwood to carpet.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include putting away any toys or clutter it may come across. It's also a good idea to keep the dust bin and filter clean so that they aren't clogged by dirt. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and emptys the dirt into the docking station's external dustbin. We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning routines and to move around the room and sweep the area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. When connected, we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a world of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.

The V10 is powered with seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries, which produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes. Its sophisticated whole-machine filtration system traps allergens and releases cleaner air back into your home. Its specialized cleaning head drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to suck up large particles and fine dust. It has three suction modes to meet the task being performed. Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the ability to map that comes with more advanced models like our top selections, the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It may get stuck on phone cords or low furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects because it has fewer parts that need regular cleaning and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job maneuvering itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges faster.

The elegant RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for most purposes, as it has a better battery life, the ability to change the suction power mode by hand and has physical boundary strips, and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It is also more durable, has a stronger motor, and is more effective on floors with bare or low-pile.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
